Simplicity Parenting Series
A six week online group
Using the Extraordinary Power of Less to Raise Calmer, Happier, and More Secure Kids.
Our children come to us with a deep destiny that needs to be honoured. —Kim John Payne
Are we building our families on the four pillars of "too much"— too much stuff, too many choices, too much information and too fast?
Join the slow parenting movement and learn ways to simplify and slow down your home environment, create predictable and connecting rhythms, simplify your child's weekly schedule and find out the benefits to filtering out the adult world.
Simplicity Parenting offers a simple, orderly, and effective pathway to simplifying in four realms at home, which reduces stress on children and their care givers, and allows room for connection, creativity, and relaxation.
The four realms for simplifying are:

CO-PARENT INVITED TO JOIN.
This group is for you if:
- You are a hard working, dedicated parent but struggling to "succeed" 100% at parenting.
- You are aware of a disconnect between your values and the values of mainstream consumerism culture and want your parenting to mirror your goals for your family.
- You feel overwhelmed or anxious rather than hopeful about family life.
- Your child is showing signs of overwhelm or anxiety. Fighting sleep. Big tantrums that seem beyond developmentally appropriate. Or maybe school is reporting attention-related difficulties or behavioural problems.
- You are raising your child in a different way than you were parented and are focused on building a positive relationship with your child.
Parenting is sacred.
We need more time and space to reflect on the direction our family is heading.
how it works:
Just as though we were in a physical room together, we will meet in a virtual space— grab your beverage of choice and join the conversation. In addition to the four pillars of simplicity, we will cover the soul fevered child (and parent) and the compassionate response, an ancient buddhist meditation. Each week, you will have access to audios and content via a password protected page.
A little about me.
I've always loved simplicity. As a little girl, my mother would find me re-arranging my bedroom furniture and clearing out my closet on the regular. It makes sense, as to this day I am deeply affected by my environment and love change— I've even learned to embrace the kind of change that we cannot control.
Once I became a mom + care giver, at the peak of sleep deprivation and extreme uncertainty, it was necessary for me to simplify to not only make it through, but because I wanted to make the most our life together as a family (hello: you never know what is going to happen).
Having a supportive space where I could reflect and gain the energy to create some simple changes was a significant part of the process. I am grateful and deeply moved by the power of simplifying.
In addition to being a certified Simplicity Parenting Family Life Coach based on Kim John Payne's work and book Simplicity Parenting, I am a registered occupational therapist who has worked with hundreds of families since 2005. But first and foremost, I am kind and wholehearted human being.
This online 6 week group series is a great foundation that you can revisit again and again.
Master simplicity and alleviate the feeling of dissatisfaction as you transform your daily life. Go against the grain by carving out this time to reflect on what really matters to you and your family and create some small, and yet significant shifts.
More than anything, there is immense value in hearing other parents' experiences and stories— so when you go through the ups and downs, you know you are not alone.

more words from parents
"Your expertise is incredibly valuable; the insights you share would be hard to find in a "search". The group format would not be something I would normally be interested in— as I like being a fly on the wall. BUT I found the group to be a safe space to share; and in return, learned from the other parents who also shared their stories. I highly recommend your program!" — Mama of two
"I find myself telling other parents about my experience in the group a couple of times a week. Especially the things I didn't know I didn't know— I learned so much! (And I consider myself to be a pretty educated person.)"
"The course definitely changed the way I look at my daughter, especially when she is having a toddler melt down. Although I occasionally still "lose it", I find I have more patience to stop and consider why she is acting that way. I find I am able to respond to her in a more proactive way while also keeping my cool (sometimes even being able to laugh with my partner about it). We also did a major clean up of our play area space, I constantly think about that one photo you posted of all your girls' toys in the one shot - I want to do something similar!”
“I really liked the community feel the group had, even being online. It was refreshing to see different points of view and different family make ups, but see that we all shared similarities and goals for simplicity. I liked how it was an open dialogue between all the members, but I also liked when you specifically called on someone to read and/or answer/comment (that way we didn't speak over each other)."
